The Biden administration on Friday imposed sweeping sanctions targeting Russia’s energy sector, days before President Donald Trump takes office, ultimately targeting Moscow’s oil revenues.
The measures include sanctions against Russian oil producers Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, and the blacklisting of 183 vessels involved in Russian energy exports. Dozens of traders, Russia-based oil field service providers and energy officials were also targeted, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Treasury Department.
