Adding a green list isn’t enough for travel managers

Aviation leaders have warned that the government’s recent expansion of the UK’s green list is not enough.

As of Wednesday, people returning from 16 locations will not need to be quarantined.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has also confirmed that they plan to not have to quarantine fully vaccinated people returning from Amberlist Country. He said this was “late of this summer.”

EasyJet came out and added that the government timetables were not progressing well and there was a huge surge in people booking vacations in greenlist countries.

The CEO of EasyJet Garry Wilson has questioned why certain locations, including Canary and Greek islands, were not added to the list.

New additions to the green list surged shortly after it was announced as a non-quarantine destination, the independence said.

The flight with British Airways from London Heathrow to Madeira’s Funchar has more than doubled since it was announced earlier this week. Flights from Manchester to Malta increased by 25% via EasyJet.

Ibiza’s Tourism Director said the island would “open arms” and welcome people if the UK government adds it to the green list, the Financial Times reported.

The UK government plans to review England’s traffic light system for overseas travel every three weeks.
