Heathrow is pushing UK travelers to America without restrictions
Heathrow Airport reported an increase in passenger numbers in July, urging the US to ease restrictions on passengers travelling from the UK.
In July, Heathrow handled 1.5 million tourists, up 74% in the same month a year ago, but the number fell 80% from the levels seen before the pandemic.
Although the improved numbers say it depends on relaxing government restrictions, Heathrow still looks at the impact of the decision to allow vaccinated US and EU to come to the UK without quarantine. He added that it was not.
However, travelers heading to America are not yet permitted to travel without restrictions.
Heathrow has now benefited from North American travelers coming to the country. Now, UK travelers can do the same.
“As fully vaccinated US visitors can now travel to the UK without the need to quarantine, the UK-US joint task force leverages UK-leading vaccine rollouts to fully vaccinate “We must reach a mutual agreement for British travelers.”
Heathrow’s Chief Operating Officer Emma Gilthorp was optimistic about the travel industry’s outlook in a statement but reaffirmed the government’s need to act.
“But the job is not perfect. The government needs to currently seize the opportunity to leverage vaccine dividends and replace expensive PCR tests with more affordable lateral flow tests.”
“This will achieve travel for hardworking Britons and we are eager to be reunited with our loved ones before the summer travel windows close.”
