Vaccines withdrawn by Denmark, Norway and Iceland as “precautions”
Denmark, Norway and Iceland have stopped the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine after a Danish woman died from a blood clot after receiving a jab.
The EU Drug Agency said there were no signs that JAB had caused blood clots.
In a statement, Astrazeneca confirmed that the drug had been extensively studied.
“Patient safety is a top priority for AstraZeneca. Regulators have clear and strict efficacy and safety standards for approval of any new drug. Peer-reviewed data is generally well-known. It has been confirmed that it is acceptable, the statement added.
The emerged news came as a setback to pushing vaccinations on the continent, which has gained momentum recently.
