Boohu appoints a new non-executive director

Boohoo (Lon: Boo) has announced that Shaun McCabe is the new independent non-executive director.

Currently, McCabe, Chief Financial Officer of Trainline and non-executive director at AO World, will join fast fashion retailers to improve governance issues.

Boohu is tackling the issue following a scandal over poor working conditions at Leicester’s factory.

Executive Chairman Mahmud Kamani commented: “As an executive chairman, I am committed to supporting and promoting the agenda for change, in order to build a better bouhu for the benefit of all group stakeholders. On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Sean to the group. His deep e-commerce and retail knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the board. As a group, we are committed to implementing an agenda for change that will help us on our journey to lead the fashion e-commerce market globally, and we look forward to providing more regular updates on our progress soon.”

Sean McCabe said in his new role: I spoke extensively with my board members, so I look forward to helping the group add more independent experiences and increase oversight on compliance and business practice issues. ”

Following the news, Boohoo (LON:BOO) stocks rose 2%. Currently trading +1.83% at 289,40 (1404GMT).
