EU-leading alternative investment platform Mintos has broken records by raising a record 5.3 million euros in Crowdcube in just 24 hours after reaching its initial target of 1 million euros in just 15 minutes.

The fintech company, known as the “Global Online Market for Loan Investment,” attracted over 4,600 investors in its first crowdfunding campaign to date.

Mintos also broke another record by hitting 3 million euros in just two hours, solidifying the company as the largest European company that nurtures crowdcubes from both the financial and investor perspectives.

Already a major alternative investment platform in continental Europe, Mintos currently boasts 340,000 investors and 28 million loans. Its investor base has grown consistently at 125% per year for the past five years.

Last year, Mintos not only received his fourth year People’s Choice Award at the annual ALTFI Awards, but also received the annual prize award.

Until this week, Mintos was able to raise around 7 million euros from angel investors, funding most of its own growth through revenue. The company was launched in 2015 and gained a 45% market share for €6.6 billion, saying it “has built a market for loan investments in Europe on its own.”

Commenting on the company’s impressive news, Mintos CEO and co-founder Martins Suite said:

“We are excited to receive this response from our community. This result is a huge supporter of our vision and shows how strong our relationship with our community is. We look forward to seeing our newly joined shareholders maintain and continue their growth plans.

“But this is just the beginning as we continue to open today’s campaigns to the public and crowdfund them. After such verification by our own community, we are extremely excited to see what the next stage of crowdfunding has for us.”

Mintos has stated its intention to secure EMI licenses with investment companies by early 2021, and hopes to do more business across Europe based on its passport to open a larger market.

“With additional funding, we plan to continue expanding our business by focusing on customer acquisition and providing new products and leveraging our customer base.”

“We hope to expand our investment offerings by including loans with low risk and return levels and provide our customers with new investment products (such as ETFs) and financial services (such as Mintos Iban accounts and debit cards).”
