Unilever plc ULVR On Tuesday, CEO Hein Schumacher announced he would resign “by mutual agreement.” He will be replaced by Chief Financial Officer Fernando Fernandez.
The London-based consumer goods company, which owns brands such as Marmite, Dove, and Ben & Jerry, is now in the role until March 1st, when CEO of Schumacher in July 2023.
His successor, Fernandez, became CFO in January 2024. He was previously CEO of Unilever’s Brazilian and Philippine companies and president of Latin America.

Unilever said that internal and external search processes have been launched to appoint permanent CFOs, while the current Associate CFO Srinivas Phatak will become the CFO’s action.
Unilever is currently planning a three-way list of ice cream units. Earlier this month, the company said it plans to list ice cream businesses in Amsterdam, London and New York. ULVR The stock is currently trading, but is headquartered in Amsterdam and incorporated.
Unilever shares fell 1.7% to 4,407.00p early on Tuesday in London.
