Figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (ONS) show that the number of people in the Furlough scheme has fallen by 1% compared to the previous month.

Additionally, the number of UK jobs posted online has increased by 2% compared to a week ago. This is according to the job search engine Adzuna.

The total number of ads is above what we’ve seen before the start of the pandemic.

The categories that saw the biggest increase in ads were legal and alumni jobs, which rose 7% and 6% respectively.

Rishi Sunak rejected a call for an extension of this month’s Furlough scheme and business rates, despite a month delay in relaxing restrictions previously set on June 21.
