Previously, expectations were 8.3 million, but the Korean show, which was announced earlier this month, was the most streamed original show.

The show is estimated to generate nearly $900 million worth of Netflix.
“Like other big hits, Squid games thrust into the cultural era, generating memes/clips with over 42 billion views on Saturday night live skits and Tiktok,” the company said.
Netflix stocks rose 3%, but the group’s revenues also rose 16% to $7.5 billion.
“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the process of exploring the world,” said Netflix CE-CEO Reed Hastings. “We’re in unknown territory. We have so much content in the fourth quarter, like we’ve never seen before, so we have to feel our own path. It will be great next year too.”
