New registrations with 141,583 vehicles
New car sales in the UK rose 3,000% in April, up from the previous year when lockdowns destroyed car sales as car showrooms reopened to the public.
New registrations have been made with just 4,321 to 141,583 vehicles, starting from 4,321 in April 2020, according to the Association of Auto Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Dealers have been open to the public in the UK since April 12th, in addition to purchases purchased by delivery and other online methods.
However, last month’s performance was still 13% below the 2010-2019 average, SMMT said.
“After one of the darkest years in automotive history, there’s light at the end of the tunnel,” said SMMT boss Mike Haws.
“While a full sector recovery is not yet in any way, the industry can begin to rebuild as showrooms are open and consumers can drive the latest clean models.”
