Pret a Manger has revealed plans to steal 400 jobs and close six London stores after a sales slump.

The sandwich chain has struggled since people switched to homework, and urban centres have seen a decline in footsteps.

Sales at Pret a Manger have dropped to a low in 10 years due to the pandemic. The group has not specified which London branches will be closed, but will be added to the 30 store closures announced in August.

Claire Clough, UK Managing Director for the chain, said: Sadly, the outcome of the rise in infections and the necessary changes in public health guidance means that our recovery has slowed.

“We’ve been saying that we’ve been pretending to decide our future and that we have to adapt to the new situations we’ve found, so we have to make these further changes to continue to change our business models and keep preparing six months ahead.”

The 30 closures announced in August lost 2,900 jobs.

Pret a Manger has launched a new coffee subscription service offering up to five drinks for £20 a day.

“We are pleased to announce that PET’s CEO, Pano Christu, “We are pleased to announce that we are offering a range of services and services that will be a part of our company.” PRE needs to adapt to changing customer patterns, which is where we are very focused. ”
