All arriving in the UK now must have evidence of negative Covid-19 testing for travel.
Additionally, all travel corridors in the UK are closed and must be quarantined for up to 10 days upon arrival.
The new measures were announced last week by Boris Johnson to control the spread of the virus. The Covid test must be taken three days before travelers or travelers are fined £500. The new rules began at 4am on Monday.
The new rules will be in place until at least February 15th. The government will also impose a flight ban from a country that looks new. Last week, the UK banned all travel from South America and Portugal.
The travel sector says it understands the stricter restrictions, but it will lead to a deeper impact on the sector.
Tim Alderslade, CEO of Airlines UK, told the BBC: If the aviation sector is coming out, it will need to be opened in the summer. ”
The head of the Airport Operators Association warns that if restrictions continue, some UK airports could be forced to close.
“The airport currently keeps its infrastructure open to support critical and critical services such as posts, cargo, emergency services, military and coastal flights, and flights to offshore oil, gas, gas and gas. It will help maintain UK lighting by helping AOA CEO Calendy said.
“While we run at the airport, the airport is doing that. It’s only been a long time to be able to run in smoke before temporarily closing to maintain business for the future.”
In response to the new rules, the UK government said a financial support scheme for the airport would open this month.
Dee said the measure “provides much needed support to many of the fight’s airports and will help them through challenging months ahead.”
