Think Tank Autonomy has released a report that four-day week is affordable for most businesses.

The organization is running a four-day campaign without pay losses, and most of the 50,000 companies surveyed say they can cope with changes through higher productivity levels and price increases.

Even in the worst-case scenario, once this phase of the pandemic passes, a four-day week without pay losses is still affordable.

Will Stronge is the Director of Autonomy Research. He states: By providing a hypothetical “stress test,” we can dispel the myths about the affordable prices of a four-day work day.

“All policy pushes need to be designed carefully, and different strategies must be deployed for different industries. However, what is noteworthy is that if it happens overnight, without a plan. That’s about most companies still maintaining profitability.

“The four-day week has gained momentum around the world since Covid-19 and is asking the government to begin researching the best options to deploy it.”

Labour MPs for Bootle and former Treasury Secretary of the Shadow Peter Dowd support the research and said the government should consider rolling out a short week of labor.

“If the government is serious about leveling this country, then four days of the week should be considered, as they are one of the best opportunities to share work more equally across the economy. There is.

“We are in favor of introducing a four-day week that shows that all evidence will increase happiness, increase productivity and provide better work-life balance for UK workers.”
