This amounts to over 2,000 new businesses per day.
This is the first time that Q2 has seen more than 190,000 companies created in the UK.
The previous high in the second quarter was last year, with 176,115 companies being established during this period despite the damage caused by the pandemic.
In total, 402,007 companies were created in the first six months of 2021. This already outweighs the 440,638 new companies that were incorporated throughout 2011.
The calendar year of 2020 saw a total of 768,777, an average of 192,194 per quarter, or 2,106 new businesses daily.
Commenting on the study, Ember co-founder Daniel Hogan said: It’s great to see that there’s been another three-thirds of impressive growth followed by so many new companies being created. ”
