Toyota says it will halt production in British and French plants earlier than expected due to the destruction of the Covid-19 border.
The group faced a shortage of parts as France banned all cargo or cargo from the UK for 48 hours. As a result, the engine factory in Deeside in North Wales, the Burnaston in Derbyshire and the French site will all be closed earlier than expected before Christmas.
Toyota said the closure “helps to ensure the safety and security of employees and all stakeholders, especially logistics partners.”
The decision was issued by more and more countries for travel from the UK and in light of traffic bans due to the uncertain nature of how much borders will be closed for logistical activities. “It was.”
Boris Johnson spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday evening to see if the travel ban could be lifted.
“They said they’re the ones who are in the Downing Street press conference,” Johnson said at a Downing Street press conference. “I spoke with President Macron. We had a very good call. We understand each other’s position and want to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.”
“We in the UK want to emphasize that we fully understand our friends’ anxiety about Covid and their anxiety about the new variant, but the risk of transmission by lonely drivers sitting alone in a taxi is the same. I really believe there is. Very low.
“And we want to make progress as quickly as possible. These delays apply only to the very few foods that enter the UK. As British supermarkets said, the supply chain is strong and robust. So everyone can continue shopping normally.”
France is just one of more than 40 countries that have stopped flights and trains from the UK.
