New numbers show that the number of UK truck drivers has dropped by 53,000 over the past four years.
The National Bureau of Statistics (ONS) has found that the number of truck drivers in the UK falls from 17% to 268,000.

Few people from the EU, there is an aging workforce and higher costs within Brexit, and the number of people with far-reaching impacts across multiple industries is much lower. A shortage of truck drivers has led to a shortage of empty supermarket shelves and gasoline across the UK.
The government is issuing visas by the EU Lorry Drivers to tackle the shortage. We are also changing driving testing requirements to encourage more people to participate.
