Wizz Air (LON:Wizz) reported a 69% decrease in passengers in October compared to previous years.
Low-budget carriers reported a dramatic decline in passenger numbers. This is expected to drop even further as the UK prepares for a second lockdown.
The Wizz Air flew 1.15 million passengers this October, compared to the 3.7 million people in October 2019.
On Tuesday morning, the airline reported three new bases in Italy and Norway.

Airlines are suffering the toughest hit of the pandemic. Yesterday, Ryanair reported a loss of 200 million euros, and EasyJet warned it was in line with the first-ever full-year loss.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary told the BBC: “We’ve removed most of the schedules for November and December. There’s really a skeleton schedule for services between UK airports and continental European destinations.”
Wizz Air Shares (LON: Wizz) rose 3.7% this morning.
