Elon Musk said he “remorse” his post about Donald Trump after the nausea between the two most powerful men in the world led to public division last week.

“I regret some of my posts last week about President @Realdonaldtrump. They went too far,” Tesla’s chief executive said in a post from social media company X on Wednesday.

The relationship between the two men fell apart last week as the two exchanged shaming.

Musk called for Trump to be fired each, suggesting that his trade tariffs caused a US recession, abolishing the SpaceX capsule used to transport NASA astronauts, and that the president hinted at linking pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Allies have since urged the US president and his billionaire supporters to repair their relationship.

This is a developing story
