Having a well-thought financial plan could serve as a panacea in the age of market volatility, but how should we build it?

This timely topic is the theme of FT Money’s latest free online leader event, which will air online on BST at 2pm on Wednesday, May 14th next year, allowing you to catch up.

Hosted by FT’s consumer editor Claer Barrett, the webinar is aimed at readers of all ages and focuses on intergenerational money and assets transfer. The panel considers the impact of financial planning for those who are considering or wishing to receive cash.

Many families are redrawing their financial plans with a final budget proposal to bring pensions into inheritance tax scope. Our panel of experts, including First Pension Minister Sir Steve Webb, will discuss how advisors interpret the possible impact of the new regulations and whether further tax changes will be ahead of them in both pensions and ISAs.

Matt Conradi, Associate Chief Executive Officer of Event Sponsor Netwealth, presents a visual example of cash flow modeling, showing how retirement plans and real estate planning can be carried over, and explains the tax implications of various approaches. He also speaks to viewers through the rule of creating gifts from HM Revenue & Customs surplus income. This is a hallmark of inheritance tax plans that rely on passing on wealth, including effective record keeping tips.

Karen Barrett, founder and CEO of Unbiased, who connects clients to financial professionals, gives insight into the type of advice that many families and individuals are looking for, explains the different types of solutions available, and explains what a typical financial plan might look like.
