HSBC’s longtime chairman Mark Tucker resigned in September and will become the non-executive chairman of the Hong Kong-based insurance company AIA.
Tucker, who has been chairman of the UK headquarters bank for nearly eight years, said last month that he will retire from the board of directors.
Brendan Nelson, head of HSBC’s Audit Committee, will take over as interim chair while the bank continues searching for permanent replacements, HSBC said.
Tucker previously served as AIA CEO from 2010 to 2017.
